THE CHALLENGE
Who needs it: firing under heavy loads and cycles with severe thermal variations
If your kiln is subjected to heavy loads and the rollers experience rapid temperature changes -typical, for example, of porcelain stoneware firing and the most demanding operating conditions- a standard roller is at risk of contraction, deformation and thermal-shock failure.
Siroll® Titanium was developed for this scenario. It is a high-density roller with exceptional rigidity and resistance to mechanical stress and operating temperatures, delivering minimal contraction and maximum resistance to thermal cycling. It is the right choice when resistance to heavy loads, temperature and thermal shock is the priority.
Applications: where Titanium is used in the kiln
Siroll® Titanium can be used in every kiln zone, from preheating and firing through to cooling. Its key characteristic is application versatility combined with the ability to maintain high performance under severe thermal and mechanical conditions.
It is particularly recommended when high dimensional stability, resistance to severe thermal gradients and resistance to chemical attack are required, including operating conditions that involve removing or inserting the roller while hot.
It is available in LP 70 Ti and LP 80 Ti versions, developed on their respective base formulations.

Frequently asked questions about Siroll® Titanium
Which roller should be used for high temperatures and severe thermal gradients?
Siroll® Titanium (Ti) is the recommended roller: a high-density refractory roller designed to operate at elevated temperatures and under heavy loads, with excellent resistance to severe thermal gradients and thermal shock.
Can Siroll® Titanium be removed or inserted at operating temperature?
Yes. The defining characteristic of Siroll® Titanium is its high thermal-shock resistance, which allows the roller to be removed or inserted even at operating temperature. This is a major maintenance advantage, reducing intervention time and the downtime associated with cooling the kiln.
What is the creep test applied to Siroll® Titanium, and what did it demonstrate?
The creep test measures time-dependent deformation at elevated temperature and is performed in accordance with ISO 3187:1989. For Siroll® Titanium, the test was conducted at 1,350 °C for 30 hours under an applied stress of 1 MPa. The test assesses the material’s resistance to permanent deformation under load at high temperature, verifying its dimensional stability under demanding conditions.
